Houdini Indie and Apprentice » Houdini Indie License Coverage

Hi, I just purchased a Houdini Indie License in order to sell models for my upcoming Kickstarter. All I need to do is export .obj files. Apprentice can already do this. Would it be fine to continue to use Apprentice for this purpose considering I have already purchased an Indie License?

First Houdini project rendered in Blender using Apprentice version. I’ve never really done something like this before so I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Houdini Indie and Apprentice » Merge Node keeps deleting Groups

I've noticed that many times my Merge Node will remove my Groups that I have previously made. I've been able to get around this, but it's pretty inconvenient. The Merge Node documentation recommends that you group geometry before merging it so you can maintain control, but my groups are always getting deleted. Is there something I'm missing? Lol probably a beginner question

I only have Houdini Apprentice Edition. I'm not sure if that will export in alembic. If not, any other ideas?

I've just finished my first procedural building generator in Houdini and it's turned out great. I'd like to copy instances of the building (with variations) several times in a scene. This is not a problem. However, I'd like to export each building as a separate obj. file. In addition to this, the building has several parts that are different materials. I'd also like to export each of these individually as well (or somehow keep them separate when I import to Blender). How can I achieve this? I'm a little lost but that's why I'm asking you guys!
I can attach the .hip but it's very messy considering I've just started.

Hi, I'm currently subdividing two opposing lines so I can generate “bridges between them”. Kind of like this:
0———0
0———0
To This
0-x-x-x-x-0
0-x-x-x-x-0 Where the X's are connected by simple edges .
I get to the point where I resample the original lines to create the X points, but despite my efforts, I can't figure out how to group just the X points and connect them. Resample doesn't seem to have an options for this. This is my first big Houdini project and so far everything's worked out well but I'm totally stuck. I can only think of using VEX which seems like overkill for my first project (not that I would be opposed)

Hi, I'm trying to model my first experiment on Houdini. I would like to bevel the edges of a group (of primitives) let's call Group1. However, when I bevel the edges (even if I separate the edges into another group) all of the new bevel faces that are created are added to Group1. I do not want this. I want Group1 to only contain the primitives I initially assign to it. I cannot seem to figure this one out. It's almost like PolyBevel needs a Preserve Group option or something. Please let me know!
